We will be meeting Wednesday 4/22 at 6:30pm at Syzygy on 395 S Van Ness Ave, San Francisco (near 16th St Bart). The event will be immediately followed by our monthly TWC social!

“A workers’ inquiry is a tool for workers to produce knowledge about their own work - and use this knowledge as a basis for organizing for something better.”

This facilitated discussion is for workers in the tech industry to reflect on the implementation of AI tools in their workplaces. Come prepared to talk about your day-to-day work experiences, imagine what it would look like if you and your coworkers had decision-making power, and listen to others with an open mind. At the end, we’ll share concrete steps and resources for workers interested in organizing their workplaces to demand agency and build collective power.

To maintain the integrity of the discussion and the safety of employees, we discourage people in managerial positions (i.e. with hiring or firing power) from attending this particular workshop.

Facilitators:
navi (they/she) is a healer, organizer, and world-builder. They’re a barista at a worker-owned coffee co-op, a street medic, and a member of TWC - Bay Area. Prior to serving people coffee, navi spent 10 years building and facilitating programming for Black and Latinx CS students and tech workers.

Aiya (she/her) is a writer and former tech worker who now works in education. She’s a member of the arts nonprofit Syzygy and an organizer with TWC Bay Area.
